#4 - ABSTRACTIONS

These photographs are not my favorite or my favorite style, but these photographs were very interesting to edit. My favorite edit is photo number 4 because I was able to make it look almost as if it was captured on a film camera with my edits. For these photos I just tried to find abstract shadows that are usually overlooked in everyday life.

  1. Hey Michael! I really like how you edited these photographs, in my eyes it highlights the softer light that creates the shadows, especially in 5 and 6. I think getting up closer to some of the subjects and the light/shadow they cast could have helped these to be more aggressive. You also had a powerful use of the color grading to create the blue tones in the seventh photo which I thought was interesting because it shows a different view from what would normally be seen.

  2. Michael - I really love your collection there are some great images in it. I really enjoy that in image two you really highlighted the vibrancy of the green of the grass. As well as highlighted the deep earthy tones of the wood of the steps of the gazebo. I agree with Lily on the point of the blue tones that you have highlighted, you wouldn't have guessed that was hiding in the image. I also agree that you could have gotten closer to your subjects and it would have made them overall in my opinion stronger. overall still lovely!
