#5 Portrait Challenge [Emily Orzechowski] Finals
#5 Portraits
I attempted to make my portraits without a person look less like "product photography". Those photos are now naturally occurring in my sister's room and I am much happier with the result. I also kept in mind natural lighting and tried to incorporate that when possible (its been so cloudyyy). I reshot one of the portraits of another person. I tried to capture as much of her as possible, while still obeying her requests and boundaries. Additionally, I added some color and other edits back into my portraits to complete the series. I tried to make my editing more aggressive than previously. :)

Great job with these photos Emily! I really like your portraits of someone else because of the strong and colorful lighting. I think you edited the first one very well to make the blue pop in the corners, creating a natural vignette. I also think cropping the second photo to a square definitely helped it. I really like your use of the purple light in your second self-portrait and think that you made an improvement with the cropping by leaving in more of the background. Finally, I like your use of your own shadow in your first self-portrait and thought that was very creative.
ReplyDeleteEmily - I really loved how highlighted the stronger color in your portraits of someone you know. I think that those images are quite stunning and the light creates a nice natural vignette in the image. In your self-portrait, I love how you kept more of you in the image as well as highlighted the purple in your work. Your images without a person look really nice and you really get a feel of who lives there. Overall I have nothing I would really change. I would say continue your amazing work with highlighting all those beautiful colors! I look forward to seeing more of your work.
