#5 Portrait Challenges FINAL (Renard Bulls)
This assignment was truly a pleasure! It combined many of the disciplines we've practiced over the course, and I am proud to find myself becoming more comfortable shooting almost entirely manually.
Portrait Challenge #1 – Someone You Know
I enlisted the services of my friend Khari for this section. He's always comfortable in front of the camera and we tend to flow freely throughout public spaces. We're city kids at heart, and I wanted to incorporate some elements of our day-to-day. In total, we spent around 3.5 hours and took 500+ shots. Here are 3 that blend a few of our favorite mediums- goofing around in public, old-school album covers, and gritty portraiture.
Portrait Challenge #2 - A Self-Portrait
This shot was inspired by a scene in one of my favorite music videos- L$D by A$AP Rocky. I plan on working with AWGE more in the future.
Portrait Challenge #3 – A Portrait of Someone without them being in the Photo:

Renard, I googled AWGE and I have to say the sound effect when I clicked on the page caught me by surprise. I think your photos have an incredible level of polish, even the raw files. The framing, the focus, and the subject matter are all just right. You have a really solid vision and I'm interested to see where it takes you and your work in this class.
ReplyDeleteRenard, Props to you with creating this quality of work despite the injury! It has been incredibly difficult for me, so I know exactly how you feel!! I love your photos! They always look like they are out of a movie scene or could be a poster. Your editing is very strong and I always get inspiration for how to better enhance my photos after looking at yours!
