#6 Exposure as Metaphor WIP (Sydney Nguyen)

 Exposure as Metaphor WIP

These were honestly so much fun to shoot as I began to explore Berkeley. Because I was taking in a new environment, I feel like I could really behold the sights for what they were and better pick up on good and/or interesting subjects. I don't normally like to shoot landscapes because I feel like there's so much involved that needs to fall into place and be visually appealing. So overwhelming! And although I've tried avoiding them in this course so far, I felt that for this last assignment, I should give it a shot, especially now that I had new landscapes to see.

Black

White

Gray - I could not decide between these so I included them all for critique!

Bonus: All in a row!

  1. Sydney - I like the collection that you have, I really love the portrait that you included as a bonus they are quite amazing to look at. Overall, I would say that you have a pretty solid series. I personally did not like the city scape in the grey it looks to me very bland and the grey didn't highlight any intricate parts of the city or even the atmosphere. I really liked how you edited the first image in the almost black section of the assignment, I find it almost alluring, in the way that you want to follow the path. Overall, I really like your images this semester and think you have done a wonderful job!
