1A: "Good" Is Not The Same As... [Nick Noto]

Here are the images I've selected:

“Good” Is Not The Same As “Important”

For this category, I chose a picture of Niel Armstrong standing on the moon in 1969. Niel Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were the first two humans to ever set foot on the moon, and this photograph commemorates an extremely important achievement in American history.

“Good” Is Not The Same As “Useful”

This is an example of satellite photography over New York City. Satellite photography is very useful for accurate and large-scale mapping of areas. When viewing a large landscape from above it can be much easier to assess the terrain and scale of geological or constructed features.

“Good” Is Not The Same As “Interesting”

For this photograph, I chose a picture I took of my friend’s chameleon. Personally, I am very intrigued by reptiles and was excited for the opportunity to see a chameleon person when he got it. To me, lizards are an interesting subject matter that I would enjoy looking at photos of, even if they are not objectively “good”.

“Good” Is Not The Same As “Liking”

This is an old photo of one of my cats when he was a kitten. He has gotten quite big in the past couple of years and does not look anything like this now. This picture has sentimental value to me because it is of my cat, which causes me to like it. To anyone else, it would just be a random picture of a cat.
