Portrait Challenge: Sydney Nguyen
Portrait Challenge
This was, as I always say, so hard! It was really tough finding the time and energy to shoot portraits since we've been driving 10 hours for a few days straight. However, since I was traveling with someone I know very well, it was fun to capture his essence via his things, his silhouette, and his face. The self-portraits were not my best or my favorite but It was fun to play around with the mirrors.

hey syd, impressive usage of scenery in - what im assuming is - a hotel room. I couldn't image this assignment was easy given your road trip! As much as I am anti-feet for free, the little foot cameo added a different and unique touch to the portrait. Personally, I think that scene would've made for a better no-person portrait; though, it think it is the best image in the series. I think the person in the back of your self portrait is a little distracting and takes away from you, as the subject. I appreciated the use of color in your photos! I found it hard to emphasize colors and add balance in color but you did a great job!! Great series, Sydney!!
ReplyDeletesyd,
ReplyDeleteyour second image of series 1 (back to the camera) invokes heavy Hemingway sentiments. It's looks like the cover of a retired rock drummer's memoir. Nice work, especially since you're on the road! also, cheyenne just admitted that she sells feet pics^^^. lol. Good work, Syd. Keep it up!
